Who I am
I was born and raised in Los Angeles, California although New York City, Miami and Sao Paulo have influenced me as well.
I consider myself to be part of The Beatle Generation, at least the tail end of it. Not only do I still love their music and have memories of hearing Hey Jude played in elementary school, I was also one of the thousands who debated the possibility that Paul was dead.
The Beatles would have a lasting impact on me to this day and not just musically. When I was ten years old I drew my first portrait. It would become my initiation into a life in portraiture. It was of Ringo Starr.
I spent the next several years drawing portraits of my idols of music and film from Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton and Pete Townshend to Marlon Brando (as Vito Corleone), Clint Eastwood (as The Outlaw Josey Wales), Bruce Lee and many more.
I would soon move into oil painting, sculpture, write a screenplay, and create Western and rodeo-themed art. But still I consider portraiture to be my forte.
